News from the North

Greg here, once again.

Julie called us again this morning on the Iridium satellite phone. She's doing very well, having the time of her life, exploring Devon Island, and cooking!

Brian Glass and the rest of his team, and the Canadian Space Agency group, will be arriving tomorrow, increasing the total complement of hungry mouths from 13 to 21.

The weather remains mild, at least by Arctic standards. There was a possibility of snow yesterday, but it turned out to just be rain. In spite of the 24-hour-a-day sunlight, Julie reports that she is "sleeping like a rock."

There is still no Internet connection, but Julie is writing blog posts for uploading once that situation is resolved. Brian is bringing more equipment up tomorrow and, through one method or another, they should be online soon.

So the news, while infrequent, is all good!

Please note: I've added the ability to subscribe to updates from Julie's blog via email! Just enter your email address in the box to the right, and click "Subscribe." Then, if all goes well, you'll receive an email every time Julie posts an update.
