Preparations in camp for the arrival of the NASA drilling team and the Canadian Space Agency team is in full swing. Stuff is being moved to some place called Drill Hill in the crater and Rob and Anna-Lisa are finishing up their experiments because they will be disassembled when CSA gets here. CSA will be taking osme of the medical equipment so I will have to coordinate with them to be in my "living space". I hope they recognize the imprtance of nap time!
Science disclaimer: I'm taking notes but it'll be awhile before I send out this blog so remember the science is through a tired filter. For more info do a internet search on the project name or Kennedy Space Center
Tonight we have our first Presentation/Education by Rob Mueller of the Kennedy Space Center. He is part of the "Human Spaceflight Architecture Team". There are four groups within this team 1) CIS Lunar- looking at putting people at various places between the Earth and moon 2) Lunar- Rob's team putting people on the moon for longer periods of time 3) NEA- Near Earth Asteroids 4)Mars- machines and man on Mars

Group 2s ideas include landing near the lunar poles in order to use solar energy and avoiding the 14 day lunar nights. They also think pressurized rovers would be a great idea to explore. One of the obstacles in their way is that they need to design a rocket that can carry 4 times as much weight as the space shuttle has been hauling.
The Space Station will continue to be on the NASA agenda. But since it is complete there is no need for the space shuttles to take up pieces. The station has been occupied by humans for 10 years continuously. As always NASA continues to work with the space agencies of other countries
Today's cooking struggle. My breakfast sausage order ended up being one 20 pound spiral of polska kielbasa. Hacking off a frozen chunk was not easy.
